Yahoo! adds SSL analog and digital consoles

As part of a recent upgrade that will help it produce exclusive content for its Yahoo! Music Web site, Yahoo! has selected a Solid State Logic AWS 900+ analog workstation and a C200 digital production console for its Santa Monica, CA-based facility.

Ian Dittbrenner, director of studio and content operations for Yahoo!, said the upgrade was designed to meet increased growth music production. The company produces about 50 pieces of content per month, and needed to be very quick and agile with its productions.

In addition to creating content for Yahoo! Music programming, including Nissan Live Sets, Pepsi SMASH and Who’s Next, production activities are now shared across all Yahoo! divisions.

Along with a new Avid Pro Tools system, Yahoo! Music’s AWS 900+ console was acquired through Pepper Denny of GC Pro, the professional audio division of Guitar Center.
