Satellite uplink manufacturer Advent Communications will launch a dual-purpose FlyDrive antenna at IBC2006.
The Advent FlyDrive antenna is a compact, fully motorized satellite terminal designed for rapid deployment. It is currently available in two antenna sizes — 1.2m and 1.5m — and X, Ku, DBS and Ka band feeds. The 1.5m antenna also supports C band uplinks.
The antenna can be used as a traditional flyaway or as a semi-permanent vehicle-mounted terminal that can be fitted to most roof racks using standard fittings.
It offers full three-axis motorized control with manual backup, satellite auto acquisition and tracking. The Advent FlyDrive fits into two IATA weight-compliant flight cases for quick deployment by a single user anywhere in the world.
