A&E Networks select Front Porch Digital to manage content
Front Porch Digital’s DIVArchive system will manage the HD content and control its movement throughout A&E’s Stamford, CT facility; in tandem with a Sony digital tape library with 108TB of storage.
A&E Television Networks is managing its growing HD content library with new technology from Front Porch Digital’s (FPD) Broadcast & Media Division. FPD will supply A&E with its DIVArchive system, BitScream transcoding and customized development and on-going services in future phases of this initiative.
Telestream’s Flip Factory Traffic Manager will also be employed as part of the overall asset management system and streamlined architecture now being put in place.
As a content repository, A&E is deploying a Sony digital tape library with 108TB of storage. DIVArchive will manage the HD content from this library and control its movement throughout A&E’s Stamford, CT facility. The first phase of the project will address the archiving of AETN programming and the restoration of the programs to broadcast servers for play out.
FPD’s transcoding solution, Bitscream, will be used to generate WM9 files for viewing using a browser and specific file formats to accommodate AETN’s digital play out servers. FPD’s Professional Services Division will manage the integration into the network’s automation system and participate in each of the additional phases of expansion.
