Axcera introduces mobile media base station and modulation system
Attendees of NAB2006 saw a new line of television transmitters and mobile media base station products from Axcera.
Axcera conducted a live DVB-H broadcast using its Innovator MV mobile media outdoor base station. The demo covered the central hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center with a mobile video signal for reception on the latest handheld devices. The Innovator MV is a complete base station solution that is available in a standard rack for indoor use, and in a climate controlled environmental enclosure for high reliability in outdoor installations.
For ATSC broadcasting, Axcera introduced its new Axciter second-generation digital television exciter-modulator system. As the successor to the DT2B, Axciter will offer features such as dual processors and a reliable Linux operating system, which will handle the continuously adaptive linear and non-linear precorrection. The Axciter is available in any new Axcera ATSC transmitter, or as a retrofit package for existing transmitters from any manufacturer.
