Barco enhances Paris Car Show with digital displays
Toyota's booth at the Paris Car Show features concave LED displays that move 360 degrees around the booth.
Barco’s display solutions were prominent at the 2004 Paris Car Show. This year Barco’s displays formed part of the Mercedes Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Corvette, General Motors, Alfa Romeo, Lexus, Toyota and Ford booths, among others.
Barco’s ILite 6XP, ultra-high-resolution ILite 3, and its tiny MiPIX LED blocks have provided the typical signage platforms in an event environment where glamour and glitz are the order of the day.
The market has evolved rapidly to adopt increasingly sophisticated signage, said Stephan Paridaen, Barco Media & Entertainment president. Five years ago, automotive exhibitors utilized LED displays in a straightforward manner with 4x3 aspect ratio. Today, signage is highly integrated into the booth structure, blurring the lines between imaging, lighting and architecture, he said.
Today’s booth set-ups have included curved, concave LED displays that move 360 degrees around a booth and MiPIX blocks were integrated into walls to become invisible until they are switched on.
