Brazilian broadcaster sends new digital workflow environment to Athens
Rede Bandeirantes de Televisao, a Brazilian broadcaster, is sending its newly acquired Leitch Technology NEXIO NewsNet newsroom solution to Athens to help cover the 2004 Summer Olympics.
After conclusion of the games, the system will be installed in Bandeirantes de Televisao's network news operation to create a streamlined workflow via a Leitch Integrated Content Environment.
The news system in Brazil will include seven NEXIO shared storage transmission servers with 28 channels, eight NewsFlash FX editing systems, NewsFlash Preditor low-resolution browse/edit solution, Ingest Control Manager, Rundown Manager and InstantOnline.
The system will have 1.4TB of storage in a mirrored configuration. The Brazil news facility also will feature Leitch's DPS-575 digital processing synchronizer, 6800+ series modular interface conversion and distribution amplifier modules and VelocityQ nonlinear editing systems.
