Pamela Thomas-Graham, president and CEO of CNBC, has been promoted to chairman of the financial news cable network.
As CNBC chairman, she will be responsible for strategic planning and for identifying major growth opportunities for the brand, including potential brand extensions. The appointment was announced Feb. 7. Thomas-Graham was appointed president and CEO of CNBC in July 2001.
Mark Hoffman will take Thomas-Graham’s place as CNBC president. Previously, Hoffman was president and general manager of NBC Universal-owned WVIT-TV in Hartford, CT.
As president of CNBC, Hoffman will undertake day-to-day responsibility for the network's operations, programming and technology. Before his stint at WVIT, Hoffman worked at CNBC as an executive producer, vice president/managing editor, and VP/managing editor, business development.
