Daktronics employs Gennum processor for University of Texas HD video display
Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is undergoing a major renovation that will include a 7,370sq ft HD video display providing companies in Austin, TX, a venue to reach more than 80,000 football enthusiasts on autumn Saturday afternoons. The multi-million dollar display will be installed and operational by the University of Texas Longhorns’ Sept. 2 season opener.
The new display is being provided by Daktronics, which will use Gennum’s Visual Excellence Processing (VXP) technology.
The display controller using the Gennum GF9351 Image Processor will provide video-processing technology optimized for bright, sharp HD video with fast motion. The GF9351 features de-interlacing and scaling algorithms with dynamic edge detection to provide a sharp, clean image. The display will have more than 175,000 pixels.
