DirecTV tests interactive TV
By TVTechnology
published DirecTV has quietly launched its long planned Interactive TV service in a single test market with hopes to expand the service throughout the nation within the next month.
The new service, to be called DirecTV Active, will provide viewers with access to local weather information, daily horoscopes, stock summaries and lottery results.
Subscribers who have late-model receivers (purchased after 2004) will be able to access the information on-screen with their TV remotes. The report said DirecTV is expected to offer more advanced ITV features later in the year.
