EATEL's FiberEdge TV debuts on-demand service with SeaChange
An end-to-end SeaChange VOD system supports EATEL's FiberEdge TV service in Baton Rouge.
On-demand television debuts this month in Baton Rouge on EATEL's FiberEdge TV service. EATEL deployed SeaChange software and servers to offer movies and other programming with on-demand convenience to subscribers who already subscribe to the services of the year-old FiberEdge TV line-up.
Based in Ascension Parish, EATEL launched its FiberEdge TV in 2005 with access to more than 300 channels, including 47 digital music channels, sports, local and high-definition programming and digital video recording capabilities.
The fiber-optic build-out will continue as EATEL invests over $30 million in its communications infrastructure.
Through its disk servers and blade options, end-to-end Axiom operational software, middleware and add-on applications like DVD-on-demand and games-on-demand, SeaChange VOD systems are now in order for 100 commercial on-demand television services.
