Emirates Stadium offers fans HD display in Europe

published Emirates Stadium in Islington, U.K., will be one of the first HD-capable stadiums in Europe when it opens in August.
The Arsenal Football Club, which will play at the stadium, has selected Sony Professional Services Europe and Venue Solutions, as system integrator, to provide a range of products, including:
- 439 screens in the general concourse, Club Level areas and executive boxes. Marketing managers using Sony’s Ziris content creation and management software;
- All displays being HD capable;
- Live HD production to feeds content to large screen displays, the general concourse, Club Level areas and executive box screens.
- MPEG-4 (H264/AVC) encoding of HD content for distribution via the stadium’s network infrastructure to each display.
The team and Sony also will work to make press rooms, conference suites, the team’s museum, store and offices HD-capable.
