ESPN, DISH Network offered interactive X Games coverage
ESPN, EchoStar Communications' DISH Network and X Games put X Games fans in control during the production of X Games, Aug. 3- 6, via “ESPN Interactive X Games,” an interactive platform that allowed viewers to monitor six camera feeds in a mosaic format on DISH Network's DishHOME channel 100.
The “ESPN Interactive X Games” mosaic included six windows on one screen. The windows included ESPN, four different X Games events and a best of X Games highlight reel. Those with the platform could select to watch all six windows at once or watch one in full screen.
According to ESPN senior vice president Matt Murphy, the success of “ESPN Interactive Indy” indicated the willingness of fans to interact with their televisions.
