Four movie studios offer content for AOL downloads
AOL has announced that it will offer downloadable feature films from four major Hollywood studios on its video Web portal.
Owned by Time Warner, AOL said films from 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Pictures and the Warner Brothers Home Entertainment Group will be available for download on its AOL Video for $9.99 to $19.99 per film.
AOL Video also enables users to buy or view thousands of TV shows at no cost. Programs on the service's 45 on-demand channels are licensed from MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and A&E Television networks.
Fred McIntyre, vice president of AOL Video, told Reuters that the company focus was on providing a single source for users to be connected to all the video that’s available online.
