Gefen has introduced a 4x2 HDMI switcher. The device handles A/V switching with no signal interruption, degradation or time lag.
The switcher comes equipped with four HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs. It connects four HD sources to two displays; DVI sources and displays can be connected with an HDMI to DVI adapter. Combined with an HDMI extender, displays can be extended hundreds of feet from the source.
In operation, users switch among sources with the unit’s IR remote control. Both displays show the same source when selected. Multichannel digital audio and HD video for each source is routed to both displays at the same time. The unit sustains HD video in resolutions up to 1080p and is fully HDMI and HDCP compatible.
