Harmonic to acquire Entone’s video networking software business

published Harmonic is acquiring Entone Technologies' video networking software business. The software portfolio includes intelligent real-time distribution of video assets based on network constraints and consumer demand, content preparation, ingest management and high-performance video streaming products.
The $46 million purchase, a combination of cash and stock, integrates Harmonic's headend, edge and access network solutions with Entone’s software suite to offer broadcast and personalized IP-delivered services including VOD, network PVR, time-shifted TV and targeted ad insertion.
