Latens and Entone integrate VOD technologies
Latens and Entone have announced that Latens’ video encryption engine (VEE) and content and revenue protection systems have been integrated with Entone’s StreamLiner video server software.
The combined technologies are said to provide digital cable and IPTV operators with a video-on-demand (VOD) system that offers enhanced “never in the clear” content security.
The integration of the companies’ technologies, they said, ensures that VOD content is encrypted at every point of the cable and IPTV delivery chain. Latens VEE encrypts the content and passes the encrypted video to the Entone StreamLiner on-demand platform for distribution to the consumer, where it is un-encrypted using Latens client-based Secure software modules.
Latens, a privately held company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, provides software-based security for pay-TV and IPTV operators. Entone, headquartered in San Mateo, California, specializes in on-demand television and in-home multimedia networking.
