Linear Acoustic to debut four-channel DTV audio processor at NAB2006
The four-channel Linear Acoustic DTV audio processor.
Linear Acoustic will unveil its Aeromax-TV digital television audio processor at NAB2006 in April. This four-channel unit can be configured as 2+2 or 2+1+1 (stereo plus two mono channels). CrowdControl Dialog 2+1+Protection Processing is provided for the main program audio.
The CrowdControl feature addresses a major obstacle to providing stereo and surround soundtracks for live events, reducing the masking of the announcer when crowd or audience sounds end up too loud in the surround channels. A new DSP algorithm acts prior to transmission without impacting sound quality for surround listeners.
