NBA Entertainment senior vice president of production operations and planning, Ken Adelson, will be the keynote speaker at the Sports Media and Technology Conference at the C4-Sports Technology Conference and Exposition, July 17-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
He will discuss the end-to-end process of managing, storing, sharing and delivering sports media to multiple distribution outlets all on the digital platform during his presentation, "The Challenges of Capturing, Editing, Distribution and Storage of Sports Media."
In building its new digital platform, NBA Entertainment worked with Silicon Graphics to provide an SGI InfiniteStorage solution capable of accommodating all NBA Entertainment’s content, which includes 1500 NBA games per season, the entire WNBA and D-League seasons, and associated feature footage, as well as 60 years of archival footage stored on hundreds of thousands of tapes.
The 36TB SGI storage solution will be integrated with NBA Entertainment's new digital editing, network and logging system.
