NBA on TNT extends use of Helinet for live aerial HD shots

NBA on TNT has extended its partnership with Helinet Aviation Services to provide live, high-definition aerial shots from its Cineflex HiDEF camera system for an additional five NBA games.

Helinet provided shots for nine games during the first half of the NBA season, kicking off the partnership with the home opener of the 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons.

Along with the Cineflex HiDEF, Helinet is providing TNT with a helicopter, pilot and camera operator for a complete, high-definition aerial solution. The Cineflex HiDEF was the first system in the U.S. to capture and transmit aerial high definition images for live broadcast.

In addition to the NBA, the Cineflex HiDEF has been used for the production of NFL games on CBS and FOX, including this year's Super Bowl. The system was also recently deployed to provide live, high-definition images during NASCAR's Daytona 500 and is used by network television affiliates in Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Sacramento and San Francisco for ENG operations.
