NECN turns to Network Electronics routers for remote camera network
New England Cable News’ router configuration from Network Electronics includes V1602 16x2 video, and A1602 16x2 audio routers, which physically reside in the Cape Cod Times newsroom in Hyannis, MA.
New England Cable News (NECN) is using routers from Network Electronics’ compact VikinX line to transport audio and video signals from a remote camera position at the Cape Cod Times newspaper to its studios nearly 100mi away in Newton, MA.
NECN covers a large geographic area and depends on its remote camera network to add local and regional personalities to its news coverage. The routers help NECN connect and control feeds from its remote cameras and other equipment, including videotape machines.
The router configuration includes V1602 16x2 video, and A1602 16x2 audio routers, which physically reside in the Cape Cod Times newsroom in Hyannis, MA. Audio and video signals are transported to the studio via TV 1 fiber.
By Request Communications, a broadcast systems integration company in Marlborough, MA, designed and installed the system.
