At IBC2005 in Amsterdam, NVISION unveiled the NV8288 Digital Video Router, designed exclusively for mobile applications. The router is based on NVISION’s NV6000 and NV8000 series Super Wide Band routers. It offers SDI, HD-SDI and ASI formats in a compact package. As standard with all NVISION high-speed modular routers, the router includes redundant power supplies, redundant control modules, hot-swappable front-loading electronics, forced-air cooling and low power consumption.
The router uses a card cage that is 10RU and 12in deep, within which it can deliver symmetric or asymmetric topologies ranging from 12x12 up to 288x576. With the addition of a second card cage, the system can be expanded (without distribution amplifiers) up to 576x576.
