Orb and Pinnacle to deliver mobile access to digital media
Through the Orb service, users of the Pinnacle products can access the devices remotely.
Orb Networks, a developer of streaming media software and services, and Pinnacle Systems, a specialist in digital video, have announced an alliance that will allow Pinnacle’s customers to remotely access their digital media assets.
Users will be able to access digital videos they’ve created with Pinnacle Studio or videos they’ve recorded with Pinnacle MediaCenter and Pinnacle PCTV from any device that can connect to the Internet, such as a cell phone, PDA, or notebook computer.
Pinnacle MediaCenter software and PCTV systems allow users to transform their existing PCs into digital media manipulation and storage devices. The products offer the ability to create and manage a full range of media, such as live television, music, photos and videos, on a standard PC.
Through the Orb service, users of these Pinnacle products can access the devices remotely. For instance, a user can use a notebook computer in a hotel room to access digital videos created with Pinnacle video editing applications or recorded videos using Pinnacle TV viewing and PVR software and hardware.
