Panasonic debuts six new professional panels
The widescreen (16:9 aspect) plasmas incorporate a new real black drive system that enhances dark area contrast.
Panasonic introduced its eighth generation of displays consisting of six new 8-Series panels. The new models include four high definition panels:
- 37in TH-37PHD8UK
- 42in TH-42PHD8UK
- 50in TH-50PHD8UK
- 65in TH-65PHD8UK
And two standard definition panels:
- 37in TH-37PWD8UK
- 42in TH-42PWD8UK
The 8-Series feature high contrast ratio (4000:1 on SD models and 3000:1 on HD units), 60,000-hour service life, and a new design with an ultra-slim bezel and hidden touch controls.
The widescreen (16:9 aspect) plasmas incorporate a new real black drive system that enhances dark area contrast; a deep black filter that improves contrast ratio in a brightly-lit room; advanced real gamma system; high-precision motion picture disturbance noise reduction; active interlace/progressive conversion 3-D color management system; and adaptive automatic gain control.
The panels offer a dual picture mode, which combines any two AV signals and displays them in three different modes (two picture-in-picture and one picture-out-picture modes).
All 8-Series plasmas offer a wide viewing angle of more than 160 degrees, and are equipped with a host of energy-saving functions.
