PRN launches in-store TV network at ShopRite

PRN's Premier Retail Networks, its wholly owned subsidiary, has signed an agreement to install its in-store television network at checkout lanes in select ShopRite supermarkets.

The move is part of a larger goal to provide new and innovative ways to improve its customers' shopping experience. The company recently completed a pilot program in select stores. The pilot program showed that the in-store network builds more loyalty and trust in the company’s brand. Shop-Rite shoppers approved the screens while shopping.

Third-party research has also found that approximately 84 percent of viewers surveyed at ShopRite said that the network is a good thing to have and that the programming was informative. Programming and advertising on the PRN Network in ShopRite stores will be a dynamic mix of relevant, valuable tips and information customized for busy shoppers. Planned broadcast content includes segments from the Food Network, Discovery Health, Oxygen Network and In Style magazine, among others. news, sports headlines and weather by store zip code will be updated automatically throughout the day using wireless digital network technology.

The PRN Network plans to debut the program in more than 140 ShopRite stores located throughout the New York City and Philadelphia DMAs, which are respectively the number one and four designated media areas according to AC Nielsen.
