Sky Sports rolls out ‘Football First’ with help from EVS SportServers, CleanEdit
Sky Sports is using EVS SportServers with CleanEdit software on its launch of "Football First,” an interactive and multichannel program for Premier League soccer matches.
Six to eight matches are played simultaneously at different locations across the UK. Each match is covered and linked to Sky's studios near London.
Only some of the games are being broadcast live, but all are recorded into a nonlinear editing system based on EVS SportServers with CleanEdit software.
No fewer than eight different packages are being edited, mostly during ingest of these feeds.
The program starts at a fixed time with one of the eight games being broadcast in its entirety. When this game is finished, the show goes interactive with all edits having been completed with Vizrt graphic units integrated into the presentation.
CleanEdit also produces transition effects between clips using animated graphics. Each of the systems' channels is also associated with a pair of channels on one of the networked XT servers that acts as a playout buffer and provides redundancy to the ingest path.
