Six News Now (SNN) in Sarasota, FL, has selected the DaletPlus News Suite as its digital news production and playout solution for its 24-hour news operation.
The cable news station will use the DaletPlus News Suite to integrate script writing and video editing with news automation, rundown management and playout control from a single, centrally administered system.
SNN is interfacing the DaletPlus News Suite with Panasonic P2 cameras. Two Omneon Spectrum media servers provide a tapeless workflow with the ability to log on anywhere.
The system allows SNN’s source material, work in progress and finished packages to be instantly viewable on journalists’ desktops, or remotely through secure Web access, allowing journalists to produce more stories in less time.
The DaletPlus News Suite converts video and text to Web-ready formats which migrate to SNN’s Web servers. The Dalet system integrates Panasonic’s P2 media-less cameras for content acquisition, Apple Final Cut Pro workstations for advanced craft editing and the Omneon media server for automated or manual news playout.
