Sonifex managing director to run for charity
Sonifex managing director Marcus Brooke (pictured with daughter Georgia) will run to raise money for construction on a children’s hospital in Oxford, England.
Marcus Brooke, managing director of Sonifex, will run in the Great North Run and Great South Run to raise money for a new children’s hospital being built in Oxford, England.
Georgia, Brooke’s daughter, suffered a stroke during her recovery from open-heart surgery. She has since had a nearly total recovery. Brooke is running in both portions of the event — the Great North Run, a half marathon Sept. 18, and the Great South Run Oct. 9.
The new hospital will be a purpose built center bringing local pediatric care facilities together under one roof. Half of the project is being built entirely from charitable donations.
More than $26 million is needed from donations to complete the project by January 2007.
