Thomas Cook TV installs Miranda master control and channel branding systems
Miranda’s master control and channel branding systems are being used by enteraction tv to generate multilayered on-screen graphics for Thomas Cook TV, a U.K.-based travel company.
Using Miranda's Imagestore 2 SDI master control switching and channel branding processor and Intuition HD/SD branding graphics co-processor, enteraction tv can generate dynamic graphics, such as phone number straps, tickers, and priceboards — some with as many as 40 different object layers — as well as coming up boards using data pulled directly from the live schedule.
The Miranda systems are installed at the British Telecom Tower in London. A processor with multi-level keying layers for inserting animations and stills, the Imagestore 2 provides mixing and on-air graphics capabilities required for dynamic presentation. It features video and multi-group audio mixing, a DVE, and a multi-level, automated character generator.
Miranda's Intuition co-processor operates alongside the Imagestore 2 to enable the playout of animation and character generation effects. Imagestore Intuition's animation/still playout capabilities include timeline control for complex effects, including single shot, in-loop-out, and multi-loop animations; animation storage with multiple high-capacity SCSI hard drives; and dual redundant power supplies, mechanical bypass, and LINUX real-time operating system.
