Video-over-IP gateway provides HD backhaul of Super Bowl
HDTV backhaul of Super Bowl XL from Detroit was done with IP video gateways from Path 1 Network Technologies.
This year’s championship game was the third year Path 1's technology was selected for end-to-end delivery of the Super Bowl broadcast in high definition over an MPLS-enabled fiber-optic network.
Path 1's IP video gateways can deliver broadcast-quality video at standard definition, high definition and uncompressed video speeds over public or private IP networks. They were used to provide a compressed HD feed from Detroit.
Path 1's IP video gateways shield the video signals from severe network impairments, such as significant delay, jitter, packet loss, out-of-order packets and error recovery, and preserve broadcast-quality video.
