ViewSonic released its new NMP-500 network media player and a 42in ND4200-LS Net IP integrated display. Able to stream video and HTML information via Ethernet at up to 20mb per second, both products integrate seamlessly with existing network infrastructure, translating into minimal start-up costs for customers. The integrated ND4200-LS also features an internal 40GB hard drive to support local playback of digital media content.
The two products are built upon open standards, including standard IP protocols for content management and streaming HD video. A fully-featured Mozilla Web browser allows users to view HTML Web pages including Macromedia Flash animations while also streaming MPEG 1/2/4 video signals in real-time.
