'Gran Torino' Drives Blu-ray Top 10 Sales
By TVTechnology
published It took no less than Clint Eastwood to take "Taken" out of the top slot on the Blu-ray Top 10 sales chart as "Gran Torino" knocked last week's leader to the no. 3 position, just below runner-up "The International."
Once again, Blu-ray's record-holder for most movie sales, "The Dark Knight," continues in the 5th position in mid-June—after first entering the Top 10 last winter. Also showing a lot of staying power on the list is a very un-super hero in the traditional sense, "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," at no. 7.
The Top 10 Blu-ray sales for the week ending June 13, according to Rentrak:
- "Gran Torino" (Warner Bro.)
- "The International" (Sony Pictures)
- "Taken" (20th Century Fox)
- "Defiance" (Paramount)
- "The Dark Knight" (Warner Bro.)
- "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" (Sony Pictures)
- "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" (Sony Pictures)
- "Transformers" (Paramount)
- "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" (Sony Pictures)
- "Twilight" (Summit)
