56 Digital Channels On-Air With Dolby

published Fifty-six digital TV channels representing 12 networks are now available with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound from DVB broadcasters worldwide.
The DVB Project accepted Dolby Digital as a digital audio standard in July 1999. It is the standard audio format for ATSC and US digital cable services. In the US, over 600 stations are on-air in Dolby Digital.
Networks offering the total of 56 channels include ABC and Nine Network in Australia, Bell ExpressVU in Canada, BskyB in the U.K. and EchoStar's DISH network in the U.S.
