ABC 7 Chicago goes HD

published ABC 7 Chicago will become the first TV station in the market to broadcast its entire local news and programming line-up in HD beginning Jan. 6, 2007.
This conversion of 4:3 SD programming to 16:9 HD programming translates to 33 hours of weekly local news.
The station has paved the way with technological firsts, including having the only HD helicopter in the market, being the first station to provide video and audio podcasting and making up-to-the-minute election results available via Web-enabled cell phones and wireless devices.
