ABC News Selects Panasonic AJ-HDX900
ABC News has purchased four Panasonic AJ-HDX900 2/3-inch DVCPRO HD camcorders for its Washington, D.C. bureau, located a few blocks from the White House.
Unveiled at NAB2006, the AJ-HDX900 features a native 16:9 aspect ratio, 2/3-inch, 1-million pixel, 3-CCD system that produces a sensitivity of F10 (at 2,000 lux) and low-light shooting down to 0.032 lux (at +62 dB gain). The units include image-enhancing features--notably three Cine-like gamma modes to replicate the "look of film"--and have 1080i, 720p, 24fps and 25fps capabilities. The camcorders will record for slightly more than 30 minutes on a DVCPRO medium-size cassette with 48 KHz, 16-bit digital audio on four channels.
