Accom to Research Codecs With OmniLab Gear
Accom has purchased OmniTek's PC-based OmniLab test and measurement system to evaluate video compression codecs. The integrated tool suite combines OmniGen, a multi-format digital test signal generator with full-motion sequence play-out capability, with OmniView, a multi-format digital waveform monitor and signal analyzer package.
Ian Craven, senior vice president of engineering at Accom, said, "Previously we didn't have a clean source of complex test images with motion for evaluating system design in our lab. The OmniLab also provides the ability to test embedded audio systems in HD." Craven also singled out the zone plate generator and the ease of the system as key factors in the decision.
