Accom's Dveous/HD Provides World Cup HD Effects
The Korean Broadcast System (KBS) is employing Accom's Dveous/HD high-definition digital video effects system to create effects for its broadcast of the World Cup Soccer tournament in South Korea, and plans to purchase more systems in the near future.
Dveous/HD is a descendant of Accom's original Dveous system. It employs a twin-channel architecture that can be used in a dual-video or a video-plus-key configuration, with a full-bandwidth drop shadow. A second twin-channel can be added, providing four independent video or key channels. Effects features include OrbitalFX, Surface FX, SuperShadow and UltraWarp.
During the tourney, KBS broadcast one match per day in high-definition. A live satellite feed from the game is fed back to the KBS HD room for editing. KBS plans to purchase four more systems for use in its live studio and post-production suites.
