ACMEworks purchases Sledgehammer HD!O
Maximum Throughput , a developer and provider of networked storage and media management solutions, has announced that Calgary, Alberta-based ACMEworks Digital Film has purchased a Sledgehammer HD!O Network Attached Storage (NAS) system.
ACMEworks is a specialized post-production service company dedicated to digital film recording for preservation as well as presentation. The NAS device will be used to centralize HD and SD input and output as well as provide faster network access to captured material.
The manufacturer said Sledgehammer HD!O is also a versatile, high-speed video and data conduit. The result is a Network Attached Media Bridge, designed to address the specific needs of the entertainment industry.
A networked storage solution, Sledgehammer is optimized for moving digital content at high speeds onto or off an IP-based network. It can consolidate all the storage needs of a post-production facility, including HD material, regardless of the data sets in use. It provides, via a web-based interface, real-time SD and HD resolution video I/O capabilities. And because it is a NAS device, all networked users (Windows, UNIX, Linux, Mac, etc.) can access the same data at the same time.
