Alaska's Stevens in Line to Head Senate Commerce Committee

Ted Stevens, who openly railed against raising media ownership caps and who requested a Federal Trade Commission investigation Internet file-sharing, is the next in line to take over the Senate Commerce Committee, if Republicans retain control of the Senate. Six-year term limits will force Sen. John McCain, (R-Ariz.) to give up the chairmanship at the end of this year.
