Allin HD ITV Tapped for New Vessels

Pittsburgh-based Allin Corp. said it has just concluded a deal with Royal Caribbean International to install Allin's DigiHD ITV platform on a new cruise liner, Oasis of the Seas—which Royal Caribbean said will be the largest in the world when construction is completed in late 2009.

Allin also said it has obtained a letter-of-intent to install its DigiHD ITV system on a sister ship, Allure of the Seas, which is on schedule to be launched in 2010 after construction is completed in Finland.

Royal Caribbean said Allin's HD ITV services will be designed to entertain passengers in their cabins and also ensure they're made fully aware of the "wide range of choices and activities" aboard ship. The Allin system will include interactive options for passengers—notably VOD movies, dining and activity reservations, and shore excursion information.

Each of the new ships will include 16 decks, 2,700 staterooms—and, therefore, at double occupancy—carry up to 5,400 passengers.
