Anchors Drop Out of NAB Programming Summit
By TVTechnology
published A second Washington TV news anchor has pulled out of the NAB's upcoming Responsible Programming Summit because it's closed to the press.
WJLA(TV) anchor Kathleen Matthews told The Washington Times, "It seems so silly to me they won't open this up to reporters. People in the media aren't going to say anything off the record, whether reporters are in the room or not."
WUSA(TV) anchor Gordon Peterson decided not to participate earlier for the same reason.
The summit is Wednesday, March 31. NAB has said it intends to have a press briefing afterwards.
