Anystream, Dolby demonstrate new Dolby E decoding technology
At IBC2006, Anystream unveiled a software-based approach to workflows that combines an Agility digital media production system and a prototype Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer, which includes software-based Dolby E audio decoding.
The system enables automated, file-based multiplatform publishing workflows and can convert Dolby E audio content into formats compatible with a wide range of consumer devices at rates many times faster than real-time.
With the availability of the combined Agility/DP600 solution, currently projected for early 2007, Dolby E conversion is expected to become an integrated part of file-based broadcast, VOD, Web, mobile phone and IPTV content production workflows.
Anystream Agility is an end-to-end platform for automated media production, from ingest and transformation, to programmatic editing, transcoding and packaging for digital distribution. The Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer encodes, decodes and transcodes Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E content. It also provides intelligent audio loudness analysis and correction.
