AP selects Leitch servers for newsgathering
The Associated Press has chosen a Leitch Nexio NewsNet server system, consisting of 500 hours of storage and two Nexio NewsFlash nonlinear editing systems, for its expansive newsgathering activities. The system will be used to create news stories for distribution over the wire to print, radio and television networks.
Leitch servers and edit systems are fully compatible with the AP’s ENPS newsroom system. Nexio offers a modular, scalable architecture for program distribution and news creation environments, facilitating editing, browsing and media management. It also supports multiple compression formats in SD and HD, industry-standard control protocols, third-party file formats and ASI interfaces.
The NewsFlash nonlinear editing system provides direct access to all content stored on the Nexio server, as soon as ingest begins, allowing editors to play their finished edits directly to air.
