Apple joins Blu-ray Disc Association board

published Apple Computer will join the board of directors of the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA).
Apple has driven consumer adoption of DVD authoring since January 2001 with the introduction of its SuperDrive high-volume CD and DVD-burning drive, and its iDVD and DVD Studio Pro software applications. Apple is also helping to bring HD to the market with a complete line of content creation tools for consumers and professionals.
According to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the company’s customers are creating HD content and are “anxiously awaiting a way to burn their own high def DVDs.”
