Ascent Media expands Colossus playout capability for multilingual European coverage

Ascent Media has expanded its Omnibus Colossus playout capability at its Chiswick Park, London, facility. The system has been upgraded to handle up to 96 audio channels per video channel from an Omneon server dedicated to playout for a major broadcaster with multilingual programming throughout Europe.

Ascent previously had up to 22 channels of audio for any piece of video content, and the support for additional audio tracks has allowed Ascent to streamline its processes for maximum efficiency.
