Asset management pioneers get Emmy nominations
The National Television Academy has announced the nominees for the first Advanced Media Technology Emmy Awards. The new awards will be presented as part of the annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards dinner at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on October 23.
With these newly created awards, the Academy will — for the first time — honor work being done in interactive television, new media, and related programming and technology.
Among the nominees were ABC Enhanced Television, Cablevision, Cablevision Systems, GoldPocket Interactive and SeaChange International, in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Creation of Non-Traditional Programs or Platforms.
ABC Enhanced Television for its iTV platform; Cablevision Systems for its asset management, publishing system and portal manager; Cablevision for its interactive Optimum Digital Cable Service; GoldPocket Interactive for its Event Matrix Interactive Network; and SeaChange was nominated for its VOD Time-Shifted Television software suite.
