Avid Intros New Certified User Program
Tewksbury, MA--Avid Technology has introduced the Avid Certified User (ACU) Program in response to strong demand from the post-production industry for reliable standards in operational proficiency. The program, which will be available beginning June 1, 2004, is designed to test new and aspiring users on a wide range of Media Composer and Avid Xpress Pro software tools and functions, including media capture, asset management, editing, effects, color correction, and output.
Users who pass a monitored exam will receive operator-level certification from Avid. The ACU exam will be offered at Avid's corporate headquarters in Tewksbury, MA, and at participating Avid Authorized Education Centers (AAECs) in the U.S. and Canada. While class attendance is not required before taking the exam, users may enroll in a range of courses offered by Avid and its training centers to help them sharpen their software skills related to editing, effects, color-correction, and media management.
Once certified, program participants will be able to designate their status with an ACU logo. Certified users will also be eligible for inclusion in the ACU Database, a searchable, online resource that will be accessible to potential employers.
