AZCAR To Rebuild Sinclair Stations

Sinclair Broadcast Group has selected AZCAR Technologies to rebuild four of its TV stations in an effort to expand its NewsCentral corporate news production initiative. The contract includes the installation of digital master control equipment for two stations.

AZCAR will eventually equip WUHF (Rochester, N.Y.), WLFL (Raleigh, N.C.), KOKH (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and WBFF (Baltimore). AZCAR and Sinclair chose a package of gear including Thomson Grass Valley cameras, Zodiak production switchers and Concerto routers as well as Miranda/Oxtel ImageStore/PresMaster master control solutions. The first station should be on-air in March.

Launched by Sinclair last year, NewsCentral is a news service that produces news reports for Sinclair affiliates from a central news hub at its headquarters outside of Baltimore.
