Azerbaijan Plans to be First South Caucasus DTV Broadcaster

published The Minister for Communications and Information Technologies, Ali Abbasov, told journalists last week that Azerbaijan will become the first country in the South Caucasus, and the second in CIS following Russia, to put digital TV on the air. An article on the Trends Azerbaijan Web site quoted Ali Abbasov saying, "At present the search of new western companies which could carry out the project is underway."
The article, "Azerbaijan to become 1st country in S Caucasus with digital TV on" has no technical information but explains the economic impact of the program.
