Basic Blu-ray Players, Mid-Sized 1080p LCD Lead Sales
Blu-ray players have come well within the price range of many consumers this holiday season, and 1080p panels—especially smaller than 40 inches—are now priced about where traditional large-screen analog sets were a few years ago. (Of course, "large-screen" a few years ago meant anything more than 24 inches diagonally.)
Here's a sampling of some of the deals posted in advance of Black Friday on Nov. 27, according to BlackFriday.info, (in some cases, subject to unannounced last-minute price reductions at specific store locations). In many cases, these reduced price points are already in effect, and will run at least through this weekend (Nov. 29):
- •Walmart has the Magnavox entry-level NB500 Blu-ray Player for $78
- •Costco has a Vizio entry-level VBR110 Blu-ray player for $100 (with HDMI cable)
- •Walmart has the Sony Bravia 32-inch KDL32L504 LCD 720p for $378
- •Walmart has the Sony Bravia 40-inch KDL40S504 LCD 1080p for $598
- •Walmart has the Sony Bravia 46-inch KDL465504 LCD 1080p for $798
- •Costco has the Vizio VL320M 32-inch 1080p LCD for $400
- •Costco has the Vizio VO400E 40-inch 1080p LCD for $600 (Dec. 3-20)
- •Costco has the Vizio VF550M 55-inch 1080p 120Hz LCD for $1,200
- •Best Buy has the 32-inch Dynex 720p LCD for $300
- •Best Buy has the 40-inch Dynex 1080p LCD for $500
- •Best Buy has the Samsung 32-inch 720p LCD for $398
- •Best Buy has the Samsung 50-inch 720p plasma for $698
- •Several retailers have the Samsung 46-inch LN46B500 LCD 1080p for MSRP $850 (2 HDMI inputs)
- •Several retailers have the Samsung 40-inch LN40B500 LCD 1080p for $600 (2 HDMI inputs)
- •Several retailers have the Samsung 22-inch LN22B350 LCD 720p for $250 (1 HDMI input, 1 PC input)
