Basic Blu-ray Players, Mid-Sized 1080p LCD Lead Sales

Blu-ray players have come well within the price range of many consumers this holiday season, and 1080p panels—especially smaller than 40 inches—are now priced about where traditional large-screen analog sets were a few years ago. (Of course, "large-screen" a few years ago meant anything more than 24 inches diagonally.)

Here's a sampling of some of the deals posted in advance of Black Friday on Nov. 27, according to BlackFriday.info, (in some cases, subject to unannounced last-minute price reductions at specific store locations). In many cases, these reduced price points are already in effect, and will run at least through this weekend (Nov. 29):
