BBC Taps Vizrt for 3D Graphics
Vizrt Ltd. has entered a four-year framework agreement with the BBC to be the network's sole provider of live, rendered complex 3D graphics systems. The agreement provides a facility for any part of the BBC to purchase Vizrt graphics software.
The BBC has nine TV channels broadcasting within the U.K. and 19 national and regional stations. The agreement covers Vizrt's real-time 3D graphics design, rendering and template graphics systems and runs through 2010.
Bergen, Norway-based Vizrt provides HD and SD real-time 2D and 3D broadcast graphics. All Vizrt's graphics products are powered by a single core renderer, the Viz|Engine. Vizrt is a public company traded on the Frankfurt Prime Standard and on the Oslo Main List.
